Become A Donor

Becoming a scholarship donor would mean that the Squamish Mother in Business Society would give a Scholarship of $1000 in your name to one lucky applicant. This scholarship would be presented by your company (by yourself personally, a mom employee, or a team of employees) at a SMIB event.

*Note: This donation is a recurring annual donation of $1000. If you only want to sponsor a scholarship for a single year, please use the button above for payment and then contact us to opt out for the annual recurring payment.

The application process for scholarship recipients involves an online form with three simple questions; they are:

  1. We just met and we’re sitting down for conversation and coffee together. Help us learn more about your business and why you’re passionate about it?
  2. Fast forward in time and you’ve won the scholarship (congrats!). Share with us how you’ve specifically spent the $1,000 to grow your business and how it’s helped you achieve your goals.
  3. How are you involved in the Squamish community or who inspires you within the Squamish community?

All applications are vetted by our board / scholarship committee and yourself.

As a donor your $1000 contribution will include/support:

  • A full Perpetual Listing on our online directory (a value of $99/ year),
  • Prominent display of your logo on the Sq. Moms in Business Home Page perpetually.
  • A $1000 over-sized cheque will prominently display the {Your Company} logo.
  • Pre- and Post- Event Social Media Marketing on all our Social Media outlets and local news media.
  • A ‘Women (moms) behind the Business’ Social Media Feature on your Company annually to close to 2000 followers on our main feeds (Insta, FB, Newsletter).
  • Your logo will appear on all event marketing when your scholarship is ‘in the news’ or announced.
  • Support of local mothers through regular networking and educational events.
  • Your generous contribution allows mothers to attend this forum free of charge (with complimentary wine and appies).
  • Events include a panel discussion with keynotes from successful mom-preneurs; past have included Maggie Thornhill, Johanna Hunt, Robyn Savage, Rachel Krumme, Jen Segger, Christy Allan, Julie Morris, Niki Hurst, and more.
  • It would be incredible if we could give a scholarship out in {Your Company’s} name every year in Celebration of International Women’s Day.

Previous Scholarship Winners:

In the Spring 2019 recipients were:

Vanessa Doak – Healthy Hearts Healthy Mindsproceeds went staff leadership training (which went directly back into the community to a local trainer).

Pure Gift Box’s Testimonial:

Having been awarded the Squamish Mother’s in business scholarship has undoubtedly been instrumental in helping me grow my business. The extra funds that I received were important because, as a small woman-owned business, they were not something I would have had access to by other means. It allowed me to confidently seek out a local Squamish SEO business expert that I could thoroughly trust to optimize the scholarship funds.

I have been diving deep and working with VentureWeb for 3 months now. During this time, not only has the traffic to my website increased dramatically, but they have taught me invaluable complex skills, such as running Google Ads, that I am now able to utilize in my business model going forward. They have taught me skills I can use on my own.

My overall website traffic is up 54% while my overall revenue from google searches has risen 113% since I started this journey. These statistics are key in demonstrating that, from this support, I will now be able to continually grow my business as more customers all across Canada are being driven to by online store.
